- What data is being collected?
Your full name, email, city and country.
- What is the legal basis for processing the data?
If you click the opt-in button, you are giving us consent to share our project marketing emails with you. We’ll keep a record of this so we know that’s what you’ve asked for.
- Will the data be shared with any third parties?
The data will be stored in Mailchimp and WordPress which is the web platform we use to share our email updates. You can read Mailchimp’s privacy policy here: https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/

Mailchimp are located outside the EEA and have certified compliance with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework.
For the management of events and project reporting purposes we may also share your data with the DeFINE consortium partner organisations and our co-funder, the European Union.
- How will the information be used?
We will only use your data to contact you about the DeFINE project.
- How long will the data be stored for?
We will store your data till 30 June 2026. We are required by the European Commission to keep data for reporting and auditing purposes for a period of five years after the completion of the project on 30 June 2021.
- What rights do I have?
You have the right change your mind about receiving marketing emails at any time. Either choose to opt-out when you receive an email from us (we’ll give you this option in every email we send), or get in touch to let us know you’ve changed your mind contact@define-network.eu and we’ll delete your details from our own files and Mailchimp.
- How can the data subject raise a complaint?
